A very informal and infrequently updated change log …
New features
- The webcomposekey
window can now be dragged around the browser window to avoid
covering up input fields
- Complete (we hope!) support for polytonic Greek
- Support for Cyrillic languages, incl. at least Russian, Ukrainian,
Serbian and Macedonian
- Support for Hebrew
- Many more sequences
- Various bug fixes and usability improvements
Major fixed bugs
- Internet Explorer is now supported from version 8
- Key events in Compose mode are now properly consumed in
Opera (except for F1)
WCK now works in Google Apps
- Text fields without 'id' attributes no longer cause problems
Known problems
Cross-browser
- When the bookmarklet is started after the target text
field has already been given focus, the user has to click
outside the text field and the again on the text field.
Browser-specific
- Opera doesn’t properly consume the F1 key-press when
in Compose mode.
To do
- Better documentation
- Improve CSS, especially for small screens
- Rewrite/streamline/polish the website
- Review sequences for consistency
- ?
Website-specific
- Google Docs, Google Mail, and other JavaScript-heavy
Google Apps have changed how keyboard events are handled and
propagated. As a result, WCK currently no longer works in
these applications. ☹
